Diet and nutrition play an important role in major causes of death, illness, and disability like coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, atherosclerosis, obesity, cancer, osteoporosis, dental caries, and gallbladder disease. It explains the interaction of nutrients and other food substances in relation to the maintenance of an organism, growth and health diseases.
